Stella played an important in the life of San Antonio police officers who loved to gather at her café. She will be missed. I met Mario and Stella again in Jacksonville FL where she'd gone for followup on her illness. In spite of the tough news that day, in typical Stella fashion she gave me a little pirate ship as a souvenir of our visit. It is a permanent fixture on my desk, every day I am reminded of her and her family. God had a special place for you, Estela Rivas, may you rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences are with the family. Matt 11:28+++
I am honored that I had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Rivas. I have a vivid memory of singing right along side her; hand in hand and praising our awesome God while at a retreat. This is the beautiful experience of how I will remember her each time that I think of her. In total happiness. God bless the family. May you remain anchored in the love of Christ as you continue to serve him through your testimony and legacy of your beloved. Much love and faith,
Ms. Yolanda Ochoa

Estela has always been like one of the family. I say this because she always treated us like we were her family. From the time I met her she was already a special person in the lives of my husband and my in-laws; yet, she graciously opened her heart to me and always made me feel like I was just as special as those she knew for many years before me. When our children were born she was so good and loving towards them. It was like they had another grandmother in their lives. She had a way of making people feel like they were her special angels. When my mother passed away one of the hardest things my dad had to do was go out to eat alone. But when he went to Estela's Café, she made sure to make him feel welcome and cared for and he appreciated that more than she will ever know. When he passed away, even though it was probably a bit of a challenge for her at that time, she still attended his services which meant so much to me. My heart goes out to Jessica and the whole family and my prayers are with you at this time. I hope you take comfort in knowing she will always be watching over you.

It was with so much sadness that I learned of Stella's passing. She was such a beautiful person and ALWAYS was willing to help and serve those that she believed needed her help. I will always have the memories of her smile and the love she had for the "Thin Blue Line" from all the years that I was blessed to have known her.
Mario, Jessica and Helen, you three were the Family I met in the years that she was so kind to me. My Heart is heavy with grief for you and all her family as well. I know that you will miss Stella and may God be with you and give you his peace and maybe the thought that she is with Elias again in HEAVEN and not suffering anymore will give you some comfort.
May God bless you all.

I am at a loss for words. Estela was the kindest person I ever met. I'm certain that Her smile could melt the coldest heart. She never had an unkind word about anyone. I am certain that her enthusiasm for life and cheerful disposition made anyone she met love her. Her encouraging words motivated me when I felt unimportant. She always made me feel appreciated. I am thankful to God that I met her and got to know her. I am going to miss her big time and I will miss her. I know that as long as she lives in my memory she will live in my heart. My condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew. May you feel God's love, peace, and presence during this trying time.
