I played football with Wayne when we were in the 9th grade at Harlandale Junior High School. When we got to high school, he stayed with it and was a solid, essential part of the football team. In our senior year, Wayne --- who had been a lineman as long as I knew him --- played some running back because of injuries to others. He did very well as he usually did in everything he tried. He was a good friend --- steady as a rock. Rest in peace, Wayne.

I just found out that Wayne passed away last year. I was a classmate and teammate with Wayne in 9th Grade Junior High football and, of course, I was around him all the time during our high school years. He was an excellent classmate --- he was serious about his studies. But on the football field, he showed his courage and determination. He was like a rock of granite for his football teammates --- always dependable, always ready to give his best.

Thoughts and prayers to Wayne's family. Wayne was a vital part of Harlandale High School, class of 1962. He was a close friend of mine as we shared classes (and laughs) together through the years.
He was gifted athletically (football) and was involved in school clubs and activities, including the planning of school reunions.
He will be missed by his many school friends.
R.I.P Wayne.
