Richard Perez born on June 27, 1940 was called home to be with our Lord after a 7 year battle with cancer and kidney failure. He passed peacefully surrounded by family on March 2, 2017.

He will be reunited with his parents, Jose Angel Perez and Angelina Hewitt; and sister, Olga Cruz.

He is survived by his High School Sweetheart of 57 years, Julia Perez; children, Richard Perez Jr. (Arlene), Raymond Perez (Terry), and Bea Zepeda (Tony); 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He had an extreme passion for fishing and loved to go to Medina Lake and the coast. He graduated and lettered in football at Lanier High School in 1958. He served 3 years in the Army National Guard. He worked at Sears Automotive downtown then began doing paint and body work with his uncle Simon Perez at Downtown Paint and Body. From there he stared his own business and managed Sanchez Paint and Body until his illness.
