Janis, Brian, Brett - I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. My husband, Byron Hope (Scorpion Soccer) always commented on how he was a wonderful husband and father.
Byron passed away on Dec. 14, 2006 and he would always reminice about the soccer days.
Our prayers and deepest sympathy.

Our Sincere condolences to the family. We remember Vern as a kind, helpful person with a good attitude whenever we saw him. We also appreciated his continuing help for the Mustangs soccer team through the years. The boys were better off for his assistance. San Antonio is a better place because Vern resided here. We will pray for the family for comfort in your loss.

Our deepest sympathies to the Bucchorn family. We live next door and we will forever miss hearing Vernon wave to us and hollering 'Hi neighbor'. He was one of the good guys and will be missed.

As I look through these pictures, I can tell that after having two sons, he really loved having those three little granddaughters.

Uncle Vernon always made time for family and friends. Never did anything halfhearted and taught me to do right even when no one was looking. All the good times we had hunting and fishing together will never be forgotten. Would help anyone any time. I will miss you uncle Vernon all the years of my life.

Prayers of Peace Comfort and lots of love sent to you aunt Janice, Byran, Amy, Brad, Laura, and all the girls. Words cannot express the feelings of loss we all have, or the reality that uncle Vernon is gone. We loved him like a dad, not an uncle and the joy and love he showed us. Ronnie is lost without him and we will always cherish all the moments we had with him. He was a true legacy and we will never forget how much he touched our lives in many ways. Our reunions, and Christmas parties will never be the same without him. Our deer hunting or fishing adventures or late night card games will be missing our Uncle Vernon bringing laughter to each moment. We know we will meet again in that great big deer blind in the sky! Our hearts are broken and we will miss you always. RIP uncle Vern. Thank you for all you did to brighten our lives.

To Janice and boys, Vernon will always be "Coach" to us, as Charlie was. He was a true gentleman. To Vernon I say, "there is soccer in Heaven." To those he left behind I say, "memories last forever and God's peace will settle over you in due time."

Please accept our condolences on the passing of your father. We, the Fuentes family, are overwhelmed with sadness. To us, he was a great person and a great soccer coach. The time we spent with all those soccer families was one of the happiest times. He will truly be missed by everyone.
