The Reverend Daniel Raul Williams, 87, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), Retired, entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2017, in Conroe, Texas. Pastor Dan was born May 31, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, to Robert Williams and Minerva Mondragon. Pastor Dan was preceded in death by his parents and by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Aurora Aramendia Williams. Survivors include his children, Daniel Williams, Aurora Weller, Patricia (Charles) Rowe, and Felicia Clemens; his grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Hagood, Dan Williams, Paul Weller, Ara Weller, Dennis Hagood, Aprill (Wayne) Rambarran, Austin Clemens and Bennett Clemens; his great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ressa, Malena, Shelby, Sadie and Christopher.
Pastor Dan loved his family, music, singing and sharing his faith with all who crossed his path. He was always ready to help others in need. Pastor Dan particularly cherished his time spent in ministry in the Yakima Valley, in Washington State. Dan's last call to serve was at Mount Olive in San Antonio, where he served from 2003 to 2004.
Of the many scripture verses Dan loved, the following is a favorite: "It is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:20-21)
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. Pastor David Brockhouse officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Pastor Dan may be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Daycare & Learning Center, 3200 West Loop 1604 South, San Antonio, Texas 78245.
