DECEMBER 19, 1960 - AUGUST 3, 2017
Valerie Manns was called home to the Lord August 3, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. Born December 19, 1960 to William Robert Green and Carol Denys Green in San Antonio, Texas.

She is survived by the love of her life of 28 years (husband) Jim Manns, his parents Robert and Barbara Manns of San Antonio, TX, her parents William and Carol Green of Corpus Christi TX. Siblings Bill Green (GayLynn) Waller TX, Robin Ciscell (Merle) McGregor TX, Steve Green (Mona) St Louis MO, Richard Green (Cyndi) Boulder City NV, Nancy Green (Danny) Kyle TX, David Green of Albuquerque NM and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Valerie was hired by Project Control on January 31, 2000 as an administrative assistant. In 2005, she was promoted to office manager and treasurer and later became a stockholder of Project Control. In 2013, the company was acquired by Raba Kistner, Inc. She continued as Business Manager supervising the Project Control office staff. She was the "go to" person for everyone.

Valerie has been an active member of Executive Women International for the past 13 years. During that time she served as an officer several times and on the Board of Directors. She often volunteered for fundraising, scholarship and community activities benefiting The Animal Defense League, Haven for Hope, St Peter-St Joseph's Children Shelter and many others. Valerie attended many EWI conferences and Annual Meetings across the country and made friends easily everywhere she went.

Ms. Helotes Queen,
I will miss you very much. You were so compassionate & loving to everyone. You always had an open ear. We would line up at your door at Project Control, two or three at a time and you would always help us with our problems. You would always help me find funding for the Texas Burn Survivor Society. Our animal stories were always hilarious. See you in Heaven one day my dear friend. My God Bless you Jim & Family.

Valerie always looked like she knew something that nobody else knew. She was always quiet, but had this great laugh. I didn't know her as well as I knew some of my other 51 cousins but I knew she was good. I knew she was solid and I'm so sad to hear about her early departure. I know that she is being embraced by Tom, Jack, Janice, Chris... all the people who have gone before her. They are all probably drinking beer and playing cards. I appreciate whoever created this for her. It was nice to get to see what she did in her "real" life. Very impressive. My heart goes out to her precious family and friends. She will be missed greatly, but I know she knew she was loved.

I am a neighbor of Valerie and Jim's. We got to be friends through our dogs Rebel and Hank. Valerie always made me feel so welcomed into her home. She also had a great sense of humor and made me laugh after a hard day at work. I remember the first time I met her I was in their backyard with Jim and the dogs. She came out and said, "I was on the phone with my mom, but told her I had to get off because Jim was with some "strange" women in our backyard." Valerie was also an active member in our Los Reyes Community and served on our Firewise Committee. I will miss going for my "nightly" walks with Hank.... and not seeing Valerie's "sweet smile" and her kind voice inviting me in for a cool beverage and a chat. Condolences to her entire family.

Valerie was everything to me at Project Control. She watched out for me and skillfully manged my time, the office administration and dedicated herself to our success. She was smart, witty and stern when she needed to be. She loved her family, colleagues and friends and really expanded her skills as part of her participation in EWI. She also dearly loved Jim and their pets along with the Dallas Cowboys. I loved her dearly, relied on her totally and will never forget all the laughs we would have when problems challenged us the most. How fortunate we all are for having the opportunity to know and love Valerie. Yolanda and I send our condolences and warmest regards to the entire Manns extended family.

I met Valerie through my membership with EWI. Valerie was always warm and genuine - without airs. If I had questions about EWI, I would reach out to Valerie and she always responded eager to help. I will always remember Valerie as a good and solid human being. God bless and may she rest in peace. My prayers to her family.

Valerie was a beautiful person inside and out and always willing to help in anyway she could. I was blessed to know her as she helped me in my job search many times. She was a genuine close friend and coworker to my brother, David, and we enjoyed her celebrating with us in some family events....he also will deeply miss her. Our hearts grieve with you and please know our prayers are being lifted for you at this time for the love and comfort only our Savior can give....she was truly an angel on earth!
