Passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Maura, and son-in-law, Martin, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of John (deceased) for 56 years and loving mother of Maura (Martin Joyce), Michael and Sean Moran (Bert Drews). Cherished grandmother to John F. (Natalie), Martin, Jr. (Jessica) and Katie Joyce. Preceded in death by her parents Hugh D. and Marie (Dolan) O'Connor of Klamath Falls, OR, and siblings Marilou Robinson (Bud) and Pati O'Connor. Kathleen was born in Klamath Falls and graduated from Mount St. Mary's College in Santa Monica, CA in 1951. She met her loving husband, John, in San Francisco in 1952 and they married on June 12, 1954 in Klamath Falls. Kathleen taught school at Golden Gate Elementary School in San Francisco from 1954 until her retirement in 1985. She is fondly remembered for ringing a hand-held bell to call the children in from recess, affectionately called "Kathy's Bell". She was a past parishioner at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Colma, and since 1985, a parishioner at St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church in Burlingame. She was a dedicated Catechism teacher at Holy Angels Catholic Church and a long-time volunteer for Catholic Charities at the Primrose Shop in Burlingame. Kathleen was proud of her family's Irish heritage and her grandparents' pioneer spirit, and was a dedicated steward of her family's genealogy and history. Her father immigrated to Oregon from County Cork, Ireland and her mother's parents traveled from Missouri to Oregon by covered wagon. She had a strong connection to Klamath Falls and traveled to Oregon often. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean Islands on the Irish Cruise and Rome, Italy. She always remembered and took great joy in documenting special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and holidays especially of her grandchildren, John F., Marty, Jr. and Katie, and her great-grandchildren, Teighan, Callan, Nolan and Everly. Kathleen was an avid letter writer and never forgot to send a card or letter for any special occasion. Her life-long passions included traveling, photography, reading, baking, entertaining guests for tea and spending time with her immediate and extended family. Kathleen will be remembered for her story-telling, love of animals, endless sense of humor and dedication to her family.
