Marguerite Jeannette Musso Homrig passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2018, surrounded by her daughter Sandra Hirzel, her sister Constance Mertes, and her niece Lisa Budesa.
She was born in San Francisco at St. Mary's Hospital on Aug. 6, 1924 to proud parents John Musso and Juliette Magliano Musso. They took their first daughter to live in the Richmond District. Marguerite met Robert Homrig, who fell in love with that 5'2" blue eye gal! He was originally from Lafayette Indiana, and met her at the Richelieu Hotel at 1050 Van Ness Ave., dancing in 1946. They fell in love and got married on July 25, 1948 at Star of the Sea Church at 4420 Geary Blvd. She wore a beautiful white satin wedding gown from the Emporium Dept. Store in San Francisco. Her reception was at the Marine's Memorial, 609 Sutter St. in the City. Marguerite stayed married for over 60 years until her husband Bob passed away on April 20, 2009. They lived first in the Richmond District, then finally in the Sunset District of the City. They had two daughters, Christine and Sandra.

The Millers of Newark, comprising of Gregory, Elaine, Evan, Ian, and Angelina, are sadden for Sandra and her family for the loss of her mother. Quiet, charming, welcoming to all. I had the pleasure of knowing her while spending summers at The River (Russian) and Hacienda beach.
