Joy Watson Obituary

December 25, 2018
Joy Watson, age 79 of San Antonio passed away on December 25, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer, COPD and pneumonia. Joy was born in Brassfield, AR in 1939. She ran an in-home daycare for many years in San Antonio. Joy's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert E. Watson of 46 years, father, Marvin Malone Shannon, mother, Willie Cronce, mother of the heart, Ruth Frazier, and brother, J.C. Shannon. Joy is survived by her three children, Pamela Smith and husband, Bruce Smith, Mark Watson, and Kawania Watson; seven grandchildren, Mark Watson Jr., Jillian Watson, Jennifer Smith, Kyle Smith and wife, Desirae Smith, Jeannelle Garces, Sierra Watson, and Emily Sikes; 10 great-grand children; eight sisters: Alice Traynor, Terry Branscum, Mildred Atkinson, Lena Adams, Vickie Narajo, Virginia Lytle, Darlene, and JoAnne Cronce. Special thanks to Dr. Nora Walker and Dr. Steven Kalter for their compassion and excellent care.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, January 10, 2018 with a 2:00p.m. graveside service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
