My name is Christina and I worked with Eric at the courthouse in San Diego. I was with Superior Court Personnel and Eric worked with the Sheriff's Dept. He was a good deputy and someone who lit up our day as we entered the building at the courthouse. My memories of Eric are funny. He was usually the first one to greet us at the door with a smile and a joke (or both). He always told me "You're running late, run, run!" and I was 30 minutes early. I think he liked to stress me out..lol I remember once trying to park my new truck in the parking lot at the courthouse and being unable to get it in right. I was still getting used to it's humongous size and was stuggling with parking it. Eric was standing there laughing and teasing me. I rolled down the window and had to ask him to help me because I was afraid of hitting the car next to me. He actually parked it in the stall for me, then gave me some 'tips' for the future. He was so friendly, service-oriented and down-to earth. His parents should be proud that they raised such a gentleman.

5 yrs have passed since his passing on and I still honestly can't believe he's gone. I think of him often. He was a good guy, friendly, professional and one of the few latinos our age at the courthouse. When we left for Iraq so many of us wished him well and told him to return soon. Never in our wildest dreams did we think this tragedy would occur. I guess we were all naive as to the seriousness of his mission. He spoke often of his baby and the one he was expecting at the time. He had so much life left, so much to live for. When we heard the news of Eric's passing, we at work were all crushed and stunned.

This war is still going on and I'm still trying to make sense of it all. Why we're there and why good guys like Eric have to lose their lives. Every other day I hear the news on t.v, I hear the latest casualties and I'm reminded of Eric. Maybe one day I'll understand why, but for now, I think of the unfairness of it all and it angers me.

My heartfelt blessings to Eric's family, his parents, siblings, his kids, his widow and everyone else who knew and cared for him. He was an esteemed co-worker in San Diego. We all felt his passing and I for one will never forget him. He is indeed a hero. Every single person in this country should be grateful for the sacrifice soldiers like Eric give. I hope time will heal your pain in a very small way.

Another Memorial Day, I always remember you this Day Eric, not that we were friends or I knew you, but I was there on that horrible day in Iraq, losing a fellow Soldier is always the worst, and something that all Soldiers deal with. I helped with your memorial sevice at Abu, and I carry it with me everyday. This Day is harder then others for me, it takes me to places and memories that I try to supress, but life goes on, and I pray for your young family.

God Bless you Eric, and as long as I am alive you will be remebered this Day.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I grew up with Eric in La Primera Iglesia Bautista de Mascotte where his father was the Pastor. Eric was always kind to everyone and all I remember was nice things about him. You could see that he was a God fearing gentleman and that he was the type of person that would show you love regardless of who you were. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Please pray for my husband SSG Keith Garrison who is currently serving in Iraq.

With Love,

Last week I was headed to Maui with my family and found myself sitting behind a man with a Tatoo stating Eric Ramirez, Abu Graib, birth date and deceased date. I took a moment, said a prayer, and then realized it is because of people like Eric that we have the freedom to be able to step foot on a plane and enjoy traveling to various parts of the world for vacation. I understand that probably 95% of this world's population do not enjoy the several freedoms that we have as Americans. From the depths of my heart, thank you to Eric and his family for all of the dedication and hard work they have set forth for myself, my family, and most importantly our country. God Bless you all and God Bless our troops.

As with everyone who knew him, Alison and I dearly miss him. He made everyday there more bearable with his humor and contagious smile. We have named our son after our good friend "Eric (Presley)" we figured he would like Elvis mentioned in there too.

Even though Alison is out now I still am in and every drill I expect to see Eric lumbering down the hall, and every drill I am reminded of how much he was a part of our lives before Iraq, during Iraq and even now after Iraq. There are no words I could say to help ease his families pain at this loss. Just my sorrow, sympathy, and gratitude that I was allowed to be part of his life and share in the joy of knowing Eric and counting him amongst my friends.

I was blessed to know Eric. When he passed it was a loss to the human race. Eric never complained. When a bad day hit he would come down stairs and ask for a smoke. he never complained just vented. He was always there for a friend. He always wore a smile with a kind heart. I was in 2nd platoon then moved to first platoon when we went up north. it has been a little over a year now and i still pray for him and his family. i pray his kids will know what an honor it was to know him and how good of a man Eric was and still is in our memmories. God Bless you Eric

To Eric's Loving Parents, Wife and Children,

My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this very difficult time. My Father died on September 11th, 2001, he was a proud Marine and served in two Wars. I am sure his job in heaven is to greet fellow soldiers and I feel confident he was there to greet Eric and they walked through the gates of heaven together. Eric is not alone and he will never be forgotten. God Bless you all!
