Jim and I were in the same SFPD recruit class. I have many fond memories of Jim, he was a stand up guy.

Jimmy Jean
One of my favorite people. I will always remember you breaking me in and showing me the ropes when we worked at city prison together.
And will never forget the crazy, wild times we would have hanging out at the gavel and the old shamrock. Rest In Peace my friend, until we meet again.
My sincere condolences to Jim's family. I can only imagine how much he will be missed.

Jim was one of the kindest people I know. He was supportive of all the people (and dogs) in his life in a quiet way. I loved his many stories about being a cop. He had a great sense of humor and tolerated quite a bit for the many years when we started making halloween costumes at his house in August. He would just roll his eyes when we would take over the basement making crazy costumes.

My brother-in-law for almost 40 years. He was always willing to facilitate our three sisters events by dropping us off and picking us up from parking nightmare events. Quiet but always looking out for our safety. Probably still watching out for us.

Jim, I smile thinking about our banter, your funny sayings, and the pleasure I got making you laugh when you were trying to be serious. On a deeper level, I admire your steady, open heart and respect for all living things. Thank you for being a great uncle, and for caring about me the way I know you did. -Woody

He was a good guy and a good cop who was respected by all of us who knew him.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Jimmy Jean. I worked with Jim at Park Station when I was a new recruit officer. Jim was extremely patient with me as he taught me the ins and outs of police work. He was my mentor, role model and friend. My condolences to Paula and the rest of the family. Rest easy, Jimmy Jean
