Wavel and his wife, my cousin Pat, were the link between two great Church of God families, the Swarts and the Kelchners. Their living example of Christianity was a glowing example to all of us who remain of the need for love and kindness with all those around us especially family members; forgiving the wrongs and tolerating the differences. As they are both in the peaceful presence of Jesus Christ our Saviour, may we be diligent in following their example, reaching out to each other in love.

So many memories come to mind of Pat and Wavel. I remember when they first got married and came to Pat’s uncle’s (Raymond Kelchner) first church in The Plains, Ohio. They were beaming, in love, and ready to share their new covenant with family. They have truly been a blessing as they faithfully raised their family in the Christian walk of life. They opened their home for a number of fun-filled family reunions. Blessings to the family as each member follows in their footsteps and honors their Christian walk.

Wavel and Pat were nephew and niece of my very good friends Vera and Andy Miller, and that is how my husband Ray and I came to know them. Wavel and Pat were members of the same Seniors Club as us. Wavel and Pat were very devout Christians and their testimony and the way they lived was a wonderful example of people who genuinely loved the Lord. They are greatly missed and loved by family and friends. But we know we will see them again.
