died very peacefully at home.

I regret I have only just discovered that Philip passed away almost a year ago. It was a privelege and a pleasure working with him - he was kind and compassionate and always willing to discuss ideas. Please accept my sincere, if belated, sympathy. Peter Smithurst

Heartfelt condolences to Liz and the family.
We always enjoyed Philip's visits to our bookshop, Rhyme & Reason, where he brought joie de vivre and recondite knowledge of literature.
