I remember Gene Bastian growing up. Gene worked with my late father at Fisher Body for years, and was a good friend of the family. As a kid,l always admired his great sense of humor. I just found out about his passing, and l am so sorry for your great loss.

Gene was a very sweet man and neighbor. We live next door and when my boys were little, Gene would buy them treats for Christmas and Easter and attach a $5 bill which always thrilled the boys. When they were in Cub Scouts Gene would allow us access to his workshop to shape and build pinewood derby cars. He was quick with smile and a wave. He will be sorely missed.
