Over the past year, there have been many times you have crossed my mind. While you may not be here in the physical sense, I feel like you are watching over us and continue to help guide us through this life. I would venture to say, you never knew what a profound, and positive affect you had on us. Unfortunately, most of us never thanked you while you were here with us. I hope to see you again, in the next life, and let you know how much I appreciated the example you set for me. My hope is, that I did finally become the man you taught me to be. I'll bet you still listen to the police scanner up their in heaven while teaching unruly angles how to act. Rest in Peace.

I also had Mr. Kurtz as a drafting teacher at Harding Jr High in the 70s. He was a talented teacher with endless patience. His dedication to detail and proper instruction was unmatched. He really cared about our education. Although I only had him as a teacher for just one semester, he's one of only a few few teachers I remember from my three years at Harding. It doesn't surprise me that he volunteered much of his time helping others through life just as he did his students. Yeppur, a good example for us all. Rest in peace.

Mr. Kurtz was my drafting instructor at Harding Junior High back in the mid sixties. He was soft spoken, very respected by all of us rowdy boys, and taught us much more than drafting. He proved to us by his example that you didn't have to be the toughest guy in the room to be respected and get things done. He managed to teach us a skill that at the time we didn't realize we would use at times for the rest of our lives. Thank-you Mr. Kurtz for all the time you invested in all of us. The world has lost another great mentor and has left a void that will be hard to fill.

Mr. Kurtz was my drafting teacher at Wilson Jr. High School. We crossed paths again at Fort Hamilton Hospital when my wife was expecting our first child. Mr. Kurtz was our childbirth coach. His patience and gentile kindness was so helpful. Following his lead, I have been in the graphic design and marketing field my entire career. He was instrumental in helping me choose my path in life and I am very grateful to have been introduced to him. My thoughts and prayers are with him, family and friends. God bless.

Mr. Kurtz was my teacher at Harding Junior High. The class was mechanical drawing and drafting, in the Industrial Arts Program. Almost 50 years later and I am still using the skills that he taught me so long ago, when I make plans for carpentry jobs and shop projects. I remember him as a kind and patient man. By chance, I had an encounter with him just a few years ago while taking my mother to an eye doctor appointment. Grateful to have had a few moments then to thank him for being my teacher. Thank you again, Mr. Kurtz. Condolences to the family.

I had Mr. Kurtz as a teacher and remember him as a very soft spoken, kind and gentle individual. He taught drafting and had more patience than any teacher I ever had. I will always remember his soft voice and friendly smile.
