Bonnie SMITH Obituary
Bonnie K. Smith of Springfield, OH, and Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 7, 2020, in St. Augustine, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Kaye Hupman. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry "Pete" Smith; son Ben (Kate) Smith, daughter Mindy (Mike) Roark, and grandsons Patrick, Sean and Ryan Roark. She is also survived by her brother, Jim
(Rosalie) Hupman; and sister, Vickie (Carl) Cutbill and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bonnie graduated from Springfield North High School and attended Wittenburg
University. She went on to teach 3rd grade in the Springfield Local School District. Her greatest joys were her friends,
family, pets and beloved Buckeyes. She loved and excelled at decorating and re-designing homes and her advice was widely sought. Her sense of humor, generosity and love for her friends, family and neighbors will be greatly missed.
Interment plans are to be determined and will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the
National Humane Society.

When I used to work on North Limestone and she and Uncle Pete lived off Home Road, I would go over to see Aunt Bonnie on my lunch hour. We sat outside on the deck in the spring and summer and discussed all kinds of things. These visits were very special to me.

Pete, I just now read about Bonnie’s passing. I am so sorry to hear this. I loved that little lady. Such good memories of her. You and Bonnie both mean so much to me. Both of you were always there for me when I needed to talk. I love you Pete. If I can help you with anything please let me know . Mindy & Ben I am sorry for the loss of your mom. Years ago I babysat the 2 of you. Loved you mom. I can still hear her laughter. Pete, Mindy, Ben you guys are in my thoughts and prayers. This just breaks my heart to hear her passing .
