Phyllis ROGERS Obituary

ROGERS (nee Dailey), Phyllis Jean

94, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the

Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio. She was born in

Montgomery County, to the late Sanford and Lottie

(nee Overholser) Dailey. Phyllis

graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1944.

She began working at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in the Foreign Technology Division, on February 3, 1948, and after 33-1/2 years of dedicated federal service, retired on November 1, 1981, as a Personnel

Security Specialist. Phyllis married Allen (John) Rogers on

September 7, 1979, and spent the next 33 years with her

husband and best friend, until his passing on November 23, 2012. After years of adventure and travel, she retired to the Springfield Masonic Community in July 2015, where she lived independently until September 2020. Phyllis was a resident volunteer who worked the York Rite front desk. She loved reading, traveling, storytelling, and, of course, great food! Phyllis is survived by her sister, Gladys Trainer, Springfield

(Masonic Home), brothers-in-law, Jim Rogers (Joan), Thibodaux, LA, Roy Rogers, Cameron, TX; and many nieces and nephews, David Trainer (Kim), Huber Heights,

Christa Trainer-Fisher (Dave), Riverside, Billy Rogers (Peggy), Las Vegas, NV, Michael Rogers, New Orleans, LA, Lori Rogers (Terri), St. Charles, MO, Dawn Rogers, New Orleans, LA,

Christopher Rogers, Houston, TX, Lauren Chemin, New

Orleans, LA, Michelle (Bill) Eroche, Thibodaux, LA, Allen John Rogers, Mark Rogers, Kathleen Smith, all of Texas, and Patti Rogers, Jenni Rogers, both of Morgan City, LA. She is also

survived by her companion, Robert Riffle, Springfield (Masonic Home); dear friends, Dan and Linda Demma, Enon, Donna Owens, Louisville, KY and Kathy Wallace, Decatur, AL; as well as a host of relatives, Carolyn Perry Roberts (Curt), Vincent Perry (Tammy), Melanie Perry Stemmer (cousins from West

Virginia) and Gearheart, Hill, Dailey, Overholser and Rose

families. Special thanks to the wonderful nurses and aides,

security, operators, bus drivers, housekeeping, and

administration at Springfield Masonic Community. Phyllis lived a long and wonderful life. A private ceremony was held at Conroy Funeral Home, Springfield, on December 18, 2020, with a special prayer offered by Carolyn Perry Roberts,

followed by entombment next to her husband, at Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield.
