Frances SHACKELFORD-BOND Obituary

SHACKELFORD-BOND (Wallin), Frances

81, of Huber Heights, OH, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Hillspring of Springboro, OH, Nursing Facility. Fran was born, July 23, 1939, in West Liberty, KY, to the late Gaylord and Bessie Wallin. She is survived by her two sons, Steven Shackelford, of Beavercreek, OH, and Greg Shackelford, of Franklin, OH. She is also survived by four grandchildren. Mackenzy, Maggi, Morgyn, and Maximus Shackelford of Franklin, OH. Fran is

also survived by her brother, Charlie Wallin, Norwood, OH, and her sister, Sue Williams, West Liberty, KY. She was

preceded in death by her late husband, Phil Bond, who passed away on October 12, 2012, and the late Clyde Shackelford, who passed away on March 15, 2019. Also preceding her in death was her oldest sister, Fern Collinsworth (2003).

Fran attended Morgan County High School in West Liberty, Kentucky. Fran was a very loyal employee of Howards

Pharmacy for many years in Huber Heights, OH, and then, for several years before retiring at Advanced Medical, Dayton, OH. Fran was a lover of antiques, and Boyd's Bears. She loved shopping in Waynesville and loved giving gifts to her grandchildren. Fran was extremely passionate about her family, and her Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. She never missed her son's sporting events, traveling all over the U.S. to watch Greg play college football, and in stadiums, and gyms all over the Dayton Region. Thanks to her son, Steven, who drove her

everywhere; Grandma Fran attended as many of her grandkids sporting events as possible. She was a tremendous cook, especially of desserts. Her hummingbird cake, special K

cookies, and carrot cake were award winning, and if you ever left Fran's house hungry, you were the one to blame. Fran was a country girl at heart, and extremely passionate about her family, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. At this time, no services will be held, but likely a Spring event to celebrate Fran's incredible life.

I just learned of this today and am so saddened. My thoughts and prayers are with you Steven, Greg, and all of her family. Fran and Phil were such great people and neighbors. I will never forget how welcome they made us feel when we moved here. Fran had the best laugh and was always so good to Mark, Chuck, and me. I am thankful I was lucky enough to know her!
