Bonita WALTERBUSCH Obituary

WALTERBUSCH (Pierce), Bonita Carolyn

Bonita "Bonnie" Carolyn Pierce Walterbusch, 67, passed away on January 4, 2021, peacefully at her home. Bonnie was born to the late William Edward Pierce and Bessie Caroline Highfield Pierce on April 18, 1953. Bonnie was married to John Walterbusch and they lived together in Dayton, Ohio, where they raised their daughter, Tracey Lynn Walterbusch (Bill Levendusky). Bonnie graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1971, and from Kettering College of Medical Arts with an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wright State University. She was always quick to smile, and she made sure her family knew how much she loved and cared for them. She would, on occasion, send simple but

valued gifts to her family to show that love. Her desire to make a difference in the lives of others is even seen in her death as she wanted her body to be donated to Wright State University Medical School for purposes of research and

education. Her kind spirit could be seen in her generous

contributions to the local food bank.

In addition to her husband and daughter, Bonnie leaves behind brother Jerry Edward Pierce (Brenda), brother Eugene Allen Pierce, five nephews, seven nieces, as well as many

cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. To celebrate Bonnie's life, please donate items to your local

food bank.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Bonnie was a best friend for 40 years. Neither of us had a sister. She & John have been with me through the good times & the bad. They helped moved me to Florida, she travelled for my Mom's funeral with a bad toothache, came for my wedding, babies, encouraged me to go back to school & came to my college graduation party in FL. We travelled a lot together including New England last year, London, the World’s Fair, Key West & all over FL for years. Bonnie texted me at Christmas, "Next year I hope we are sitting outside having margaritas in Florida", as we often did on John's business trips. I don't know why, but I told her that it meant a lot to us that they have been such loyal friends. So Bonnie, I'm hoping the rest of us can get together this year to toast you by having margaritas together. Love you! I already miss you.

Bonnie bought my Mom's piano from her for her daughter Tracey before she moved to Arizona. Many years later, instead of selling it after it sat idle for a long time, she contacted me and offered it to me as a gift. She knew five of my granddaughters were taking lessons and what the piano meant to me. I will never forget that her first thought was the sadness I had expressed that I couldn't take it with me to Colorado. I will always remember her kind generosity.

Bonnie was a very sweet, kind hearted soul - she never forgot any of the families birthdays - always reached out on holidays. Her loss leaves a hole in our Pierce family.
She will be missed ❤
