Lisa GONYA Obituary
Age 57, of Ross Twp, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at the home of her daughter. She was born in
Cocoa Beach, Florida, on
April 22, 1963, the daughter
of Edward and Karen (Hesselbrock) Larkin. On
August 8, 1987, in St. Joseph Church, she married Timothy J. Gonya and together they raised their five children.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy; her children, Joshua Gonya, Samantha (Kevin) Morrison, Rebecca Gonya, Megan (Luke) Marot, and Abbey Gonya; her parents, Ed and Karen Larkin; her mother-in-law, Sally Gonya; her siblings, Mike Larkin, Nan Kuhlman, Eddie (Amy) Larkin, Kelly (Jeff) Woodward, Ryan (Lily) Larkin, Kari (Patrick) Espel, Debbie Golden, Kathy (Donald) Urmston,
Brenda (Greg) Davis, Angie (Matt) Miller, Chris (Stephanie)
Gonya and Sarah (Adam) Sackenheim; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Robert B. Gonya; her brothers-in-law, Robert E. Gonya and Matthew Kuhlman; and her aunts, sis, and Lou Larkin.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Saturday in St. Joseph Church, 171
Washington Street, Hamilton, OH 45011. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Consolidated School. Online register book available at

I was shocked when I heard this , sad news.
My wife Susie,knew her from childhood,I met her when josh was on my son Blake's ball team west side ll, also my kids attended St. Joseph.
I have never met a nice, happy,caring person in my life .
Her and Tim seemed to be so great together, while susie and I have a good relationship, I always commented on how well that couple got along.
It also shows in their children they are the same way, caring, happy, nice people.
I feel so bad for you all, as susie said,we lost an angel, but heaven gained an angel.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am Praying for your family. I remember Lisa coming into my classroom at St. Joe’s all dressed for every holiday. She was a great mom and a bright light in the world. I am so sad to hear of her passing.

I am so shocked to hear of this sadness. She was the most caring, always smiling, full of life for her family, Mom I’ve ever met. Danielle & Dane would always be so happy to tell me what costume she wore & for whatever reason, she put sparkle in their eyes & everyone she knew. God must have a very special place in Heaven for this beautiful Angel. You have my deepest condolences. Lisa attended my yoga classes for several years and was a delight to have in class. She was always eager to learn and improve and was open to new things. She had a light heartedness that was absolutely infectious. She was strong and had some sort of inner balance that showed itself in her ability to hold a challenging plank pose longer than anyone I have ever known! But I always sensed that the balance and strength came from deep within and wasn’t just physical. I always got the feeling Lisa truely understood joy. I am so sorry for the loss of such a bright and loving light.

I remember Lisa as a little girl on the showroom floor at Larkin VW when Mrs. Larkin would bring her by. From what I've read in other messages it sounds like she was a very sweet person, which doesn't surprise me. To Ed, Mrs. Larkin and the whole Larkin family, we are so very sorry for your loss.
