John HORANYI Obituary
John A. Horanyi died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 92. He is survived by his 4 children, Eva Bell, Kati Horanyi, Anna Lemons (Noel), and John Horanyi Jr. Preceded in death by his wife, Eva (2009). John came to the United States in 1957 as a Hungarian Refugee. He retired after 35 years at General Motors/Inland. He was an avid bicycle rider and was a long time member of the Dayton Cycling Club, where he rode over 1,000 miles a month well into his 80s. He was also a long time member at LA Fitness, exercising 3 times a week and swimming laps up until the pandemic. No memorial services are planned. www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

John was a model of cycling, swimming, and exercise. Who could not be inspired by this man's passion? His story, bringing his family to America from communist Hungary, is reminiscent of Abraham who left his home to seek a better home for his family. I hope to see John again in that city whose builder and maker is God.

Many fond memories of riding with John. We solved so many of the world's problems together. Wether it was a short or long ride, it was always a time to discuss the state of the world. He was a very good role model, modest, caring and not afraid to lead by example.
He is missed.!

Yes, he was an avid bicycle rider and I and many others enjoyed his conversations during a ride, or over coffee many times!
