Michael Anthony McEnrue, born on November 26, 1947, passed away on March 3, 2021 at the age of 73 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Michael graduated from Fordham University in 1969 and then taught at the Academy of Notre Dame. He left teaching to attend Georgetown University Law School where he graduated in 1976. He then clerked for the 4 th Circuit Court of Appeals, before moving to Houston, where he practiced law until last year.
Michael had an incredible work ethic, embodying service for others instilled in him by his years of Jesuit education. With a deep religious conviction, Michael's Catholic faith was central to his being, and it never wavered despite the challenges of the last year.
Michael leaves his wife Claire and his three daughters, Katherine, Elizabeth and Mary Frances and son-in-law Joe, three siblings, brother James (and his sister-in-law, Suzanne), and his sisters Marianne and Mary Pat.
Michael's faith was the most important part of his life. But his family was next. He loved his family deeply and his devotion to them was unconditional.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 18, at 6:00 pm with rosary at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on March 20. Both services will be at All Saints Catholic Church, 215 E 10th St, Houston, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gonzaga College High School, 19 Eye St NW, Washington, D.C.
