Paul Makarewicz Obituary

Makarewicz, Paul A. HALFMOON Paul A. Makarewicz, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn with his family by his side. He was the son of George and Mary Ann Makarewicz. Born and raised in Erie, Pa., Paul attended Cathedral Prep High School and continued his education by attending the University of Rochester, and later earned his master's degree from Gannon University. Paul spent his career in the paper manufacturing industry. He knew all facets of the trade, from working on the floor to sharing a patent for a grade of paper. He worked for Hammermill Paper and International Paper in Erie, Pa. before joining Mohawk Fine Papers in Cohoes. Paul was an avid sports fan whether watching or playing. He enjoyed golfing, going to the Saratoga Racetrack, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns. In his free time, Paul relished spending time with his beloved family, looking forward to traveling back to Pennsylvania to see old friends, and attending the much-anticipated Goodill Family Reunions. Paul is survived by the love of his life, Cindy, and sons, Zachary and Kevin, as well as, his mother Mary Ann, his sister Laurie (Wayne) Graham, his brother Mark Makarewicz, the ten Goodill family siblings, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Paul's name to the Clifton Park & Halfmoon Emergency Corps., 15 Crossing Blvd., Clifton Park, NY or Community Hospice Hospice Inn at St. Peter's, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 The family has placed their trust in the loving care of the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Paul's Book of Memories at www.TownleyWheelerFH.com
