COX, James Everett

"Eddie"

Age 81, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at his residence. He was born February 11, 1940, in Middletown and lived here all his life. He was a member of the Middletown MRDD. Everett was a gift that brought joy and laughter to whomever he was around. He had a special way to touch hearts and extend compassion and love. Our family was blessed with having Everett for 81 years and he surpassed the limits doctors gave him to live.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles Everett and Alma (Byrd) Cox; two brothers, Robert and Lynn Cox; two

sisters, Shirley Viars and Linda Stoops; one niece, Lisa Ann McQueen; and two nephews, Robert Lee Cox, Jr. and Dougie Cox. He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Morningstar and Karen Tabor, his caregiver for 35 years; three brothers, Charles Douglas (Sue) Cox, Mark (Edna) Cox and Michael (Carla) Cox; nieces and nephews, Carl Cox, Thomas Moore, Charles Viars, Debbie Morningstar; Misty Cox, Mark Cox, Amy Cox, Ashley Cox, Amanda Cox, Christy Cox, Becky Cox, Katie Cox, Skylar Cox, Cameron Cox, Hunter Moore, Parker Moore and Trevor Moore; close family friends, Kimberly Walker Cox and Rachel Lovern; and many extended family and friends. A private
