Linda Reznikoff Obituary

Linda Reznikoff
June 21, 2021
Linda Allen (Stapelton) Reznikoff died peacefully on June 21, 2021 at the age of 83 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Marvin Reznikoff. Loving mother of Melissa Hoch (Jonathan) of Stamford, CT and Victoria Crowley (John) of Pittsburgh, PA. Adored stepmother of Anne Bratskeir (Stan) of Truro, MA, Alex Reznikoff (Carol) of Ventura, CA, and John Reznikoff of Wilton, CT. Grandmother to Lauren (Barry), Amy (Darryll), Nicholas (Paris) and Kate (Ben) Bratskeir; Elizabeth, Margaret, Helena, Charlie and Lucas Reznikoff; Brendan and Logan Kevan; Jack and Connor Hoch; and Maren, McKenna, and John Patrick Crowley.
Linda is also survived by her three nieces, Gwendolyn Hallsmith, Gaylynn Huyghebaert, and Gretchen Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her beloved older sister, Joan Fenner Hall, as well as many dear, sweet friends.
Linda Stapelton was born in Cranston, Rhode Island on May 30, 1938 to the late Byron and Doris (Hopkins) Stapelton. After graduating from Cranston High School she attended Centenary College and then earned a nursing degree from Columbia University. She began her career at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, then moved to Connecticut in the 1970s to serve as a psychiatric nurse at the DuBois Day Treatment Center in Stamford. In the late 1980s she transitioned to a career as a school nurse in the Stamford public school system—first at Northeast Elementary and then Turn of River Middle School—until her retirement in 2001.
Linda and Marvin spent the early years of their retirement at their home, "Day Break," in Wellfleet, MA. There they enjoyed summers with their sweet German Shepherd, Sulabey, and spoiled their grandkids on numerous jaunts to Penny Candy on Commercial Street in Provincetown.
Linda was a kind-hearted, generous professional, friend, wife, and mother. She had her father's keen sense of direction, her mother's tenacity and skill for organizing, and an infectious laugh.
A private burial and memorial gathering will take place later this summer in Truro, MA. Her family asks that contributions in her memory be made to the Jewish Association On Aging of Pittsburgh, 200 JHF Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217 or The Carney Institute for Brain Science at Brown University, 164 Angell St 4th floor, Providence, RI 02906.

My sincere condolences to Linda's family on your loss. How very difficult for you all to watch such a vibrant woman fade away. Her obituary was beautifully written and described my friend and colleague perfectly!
I met Linda while she was still at the DuBois Center ~ we were constantly recruiting her to enter school nursing. Linda became a wonderful asset to our division and a fast friend.
May she Rest in Peace after her struggles. We are all a bit better for having known her. Soar with the angels, my friend!

person I had the good fortune to
work with at Northeast and TOR.
May she rest in eternal peace.
My deepest sympathies to her
entire family.
