A memorial service for Patty Cade, 58, of San Antonio is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Coker United Methodist Church, 231 E North Loop Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78216. She was laid to rest on June 26, 2021 at Chandler Memorial Cemetery in Chandler, Texas following a funeral ceremony.
Mrs. Cade passed away June 20, 2021 in Tyler, TX.
Patricia Carol (Schneider) Cade was born February 4, 1963 in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of then U.S. Army Captain William Henry Schneider and Barbara Bristol (Carver) Schneider. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a bachelor's in business and spent the last 18 years working with the Southwest Research Institute as a Principal Specialist, Contracts. Patty was an active member of the Coker United Methodist Church in San Antonio where she taught Sunday School and participated in many mission trips. She was an avid runner who participated in many races over the years to raise both awareness and money for organizations that were important to her such as The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society and the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas, where she and her husband were one of the founding families. Patty also enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics within the Northeast Youth Soccer Organization. She enjoyed singing, dancing, laughing and being outdoors, especially at the lake or ocean. Most importantly, Patty loved her family and enjoyed being with them every chance she could get. She will be remembered as a spunky, big-hearted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to all those that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lieutenant General (U.S. Army Retired) William Henry Schneider, maternal and paternal grandparents, Major General (U.S. Army Retired) George Allen Carver and Barbara Bristol Carver, Henry and Irene Schneider, all of San Antonio, and father-in-law, Charles Cade of Chandler, TX.
Survivors include husband of 31 years, Bill Cade of San Antonio; mother, Barbara Carver Schneider of San Antonio; children, Jessica Chavez and husband Hector of Houston, William "Billy" Cade, Jr. of San Antonio, Cathy Quick and husband Justin of Chandler; siblings, Colonel (U.S. Army Retired) Michael Schneider and wife Susan of Raleigh, North Carolina, Colonel (U.S. Army Retired) Allen Schneider and wife Kate of Raleigh, North Carolina, Cathy Hollis and husband Colonel (U.S. Army Retired) Tom Hollis of Junction City, Kansas; grandchildren, Case Quick, Hector Alfredo Chavez; mother-in-law, Velma Cade of Chandler, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wes Dean, Vance Fory, Sheyenne Hargrave, Henry Schneider, Kevin Leon, Ty Zimmerman and Andrew Mealin. Honorary pallbearers will be Spencer Hemmingway, Luke Frager and Nick Summitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas or to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home family.

I just heard of Patty's passing, and I want to say that she was very loved by her Pi Phi sisters at TCU. We love her and her sister Cathy, also a TCU Pi Phi. I pray that your family feels God's love and peace as you process this loss.
