William Ward Obituary

William Jeffrey (Jeff) Ward
On June 25, 2021, William Jeffrey Ward (Jeff) passed on at Yale-New Haven Hospital in the comfort and care of Vitas Hospice after a very lengthy illness. Jeff was born and lived in Danbury, Ct. He attended Danbury High School, New England College, and finished his education at Northwood University for Automotive After Market Management. When he was younger he worked for the family business, Van Houton Motors on West Street and then continued to work many years in the car industry.
He loved to ski especially in Colorado where he was a ski instructor, he loved to golf, hike trails and kayak. He was an avid reader and loved to watch old westerns. His favorite teams were the Yankees and the Giants. He loved all the music of Jimmy Buffet and the Eagles. In recent years, after retiring, from the automotive industry, he developed a business called "Pipe Dreams" where he made and sold various lamps and furniture built of pipes... Many of his pieces were given to friends as gifts.
He leaves his longtime companion, Jeanne Corso, his daughter Kaitlin Ward, younger brother Scott Ward and niece Rachel Ward and all extended family members and friends. Jeff was predeceased by his parents, William C. Ward Jr. and Joan (Van Houton) Ward and his brother Tim Ward. Love is eternal!
There are no calling hours. His wishes for cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be announced and planned around the date of his birth, September 9, 1953.

Dear Ward family,
I sadly found Jeff's obit today. He and I were roommates at Northwood and went to Colorado together and worked at Keystone Ski Area, a wonderful experience. We returned to Danbury and I went to work at Van Houton Motors. We roomed together there as well for a year before I moved back to my home state of NJ. We lost contact after that unfortunately. I have lived in NH now for 40 hrs.
Scott will most likely remember me.
I wanted to express my condolences to his family as they treated me like family.
Sincerely,
Ed Kammler
