"Rich"
77, of Springfield, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 29, 2021. He was born on June 27, 1944, in Springfield, the son of the late Charles C. and Wilma J. (Roberts) Roof. Rich served our country in the United States Air Force. He graduated with a Doctor of Dental
Surgery from The Ohio State University and began a long and distinguished career in Springfield for over 50 years. Rich retired March 10th of this year. He enjoyed Tennis, Boating and biking, but mostly he found great joy spending time with his grandchildren and family. Rich was a devoted and avid Ohio State fan. He is
survived by his wife of 48 years, Marsha (Miller) Roof; four children and their spouses: Shaun (Stacie) Roof, Jennifer (Doug) McBrierty, Cortney Simpson, and Erika (Billy) Fischer; nine grandchildren: Morgan, Dylan and Maggie Roof, Aiden and Lily McBrierty, Reagan and Maura Simpson, and Charlee and Chelsee Fischer; son-in-law, Chris Simpson; special friend, Linda Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his first wife in 1970, Janice Diane (Wylie) Roof and his beloved
chihuahua, "Rocky". A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 2nd from 5-8:00 p.m. in the
LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that all attendees wear a mask. Memorial gifts may be made in Dr. Roof's name to the Clark County SPCA, 21 Walter St., Springfield, Ohio 45506. To view his memorial

My sympathies to Dr. Roof´s family. He was my dentist for almost 50 years. Such a caring person. He always asked about my daughter, a former patient, even when she graduated and moved out of state.
