PORTER, Kathleen P.

60 of Springfield, passed away September 16, 2021, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle against COVID-19, surrounded by her loving family. Kathy was born in Springfield, Ohio, on November 3, 1960. In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed Crafting, crocheting, taking rides in the evenings to watch the wildlife, especially the baby fuzzy ducks, deer, and all the other furry critters we could find, and she loved her Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. She got the most enjoyment out of spending time spent with her family, especially the grandkids, which will miss her dearly, as we all will. Kathy had worked her entire life for various entities. Her last was for Whitacre's Drugs for many years, and she made many friends while there, both

co-workers and customers. She never met a stranger and

always seemed to have a smile on her face. Donating to Saint Vincent de Paul and Goodwill were her two favorite charities and I know she would like others to keep them in mind. Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother Ruth E. Fitch, and nephew Joshua Hixon. Survivors include her husband of 22 years Charles P. Porter, children Heather Adkins, Courtney (Steven) Rider, and Samantha Porter; sister Michelle Geralyn (Pat) Hixon; brothers Michael Patrick (Lori) Mooney, Patrick John (Toschia) Mooney, and Jerry Sheehan; grandchildren Ethan and Eli Adkins, Preston and Harper Rider; nieces Breanna (Breezy) Mooney and Alecia (Nick) Bongero; nephews Michael Mooney and Luke Mooney; special friends Connie Wilson, Theresa Kirby, Christina Ray, and Kelly Hawk. A

memorial service to honor Kathleen will be Saturday at 4:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Family and friends may gather beginning at 2:30PM. Expressions of sympathy may be made at
