Mervin Lewis Rose Jr. passed peacefully on October 31, 2021. Merv was born to Evelyn Weiker Rose and Mervin Lewis Rose Sr. on November 4, 1946 in Fostoria, Ohio. He attended Fostoria High School, was a lifeguard, and earned his Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow, where he developed a great love of the outdoors, archery and woodcarving.
In 1966, Merv enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four years training and as a communications and crypto equipment specialist in Vietnam. He took pride in his work as an electrical engineer, earning his B.S. at Southern Methodist University, and working at Texas Instruments, Southwest Research Institute, and General Motors. He golfed, fished, bowled, carved and worked with wood, and loved to travel.
Merv was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife Janet (Schenk) Rose; his brothers Steven Rose (Sue) and Kenneth Rose (Lynne); four children, Mervin Rose III (Cathy), Misty Daiberl (Brett), Martin Rose (Dawn), and Matthew Rose; six grandchildren, Autumn, Bryan, Amanda, Haley, Megan and Dallas; and extended family. We and his friends will carry him in our hearts forever.
Service on November 26th, 2:15 p.m., Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Deepest sympathy to Merv´s family. I had the pleasure of working with Merv at GM going back to the 1990´s. He was a good friend and golf buddy and he will be sorely missed.
