When I hear the name, Susan Truchses, the word determined comes to mind. I first met her at the Springfield YMCA. Son, Erik had enrolled in the daycare program and his mother was diligent in checking out our program. Here was a lady who was single, yet determined to be an involved parent who provided maximum involvement in the lives of her two young children, Erik and Kiersten. To say Susan was very busy would indeed be a severe understatement. She worked to support her family, attended college, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and then a Master of Arts and a Master of Science degrees. Two traits were obvious to me. This lady valued her relationship with our Lord and as she allowed him to guide her, she was attracted to helping others and she involved herself with people who had physical or mental disabilities or both. She often expressed her love for helping people less fortunate than she was! At the time I met her and saw her a limited number of times, she was indeed busier than most people. Then, I often wondered how she kept up on everything. Today, I am even more impressed knowing of some of her massive accomplishments! I can certainly conclude that Susan Truchses was motivated to e a good person, a great mother and a person who allowed God to guide her in life's adventures on earth. Rest In Peace, Susan and be most proud of the way you lived your earthly life. Now, you are free of pain and suffering and have united with your friends and family in God's Eternal Kingdom. I know you are helping someone in need, however, I am also pretty sure you are crafting something, perhaps a quilt or blanket, singing in the choir and ensuring that your horse is well groomed and fed! It was indeed my extreme pleasure to have known you, a wonderful person and a special ANGEL!

Kiersten, I saw your Mom's obit in the springfield paper. I was her neighbor down the street, helped with horses, etc. I missed Sue a lot after she moved to Colorado. I didn't know how to send my condolences to you and Erik, so glad to see this post. Blessings to you and your family.
