I am saddened to hear of David's passing. He was a special person I had the privilege of being his caregiver for a year. He always inspired me with his ability to never give up. He did his exercises daily and he always liked to communicate even though it was a struggle for him.
God bless you David and I know you will be missed by so many people who you touched their lives.

Dr. Mason was absolutely one of my favorite professors while at Wittenberg. Electron microscopy was definitely one of the most popular classes in the biology dept, even with a start time of 7 am! He took a personal interest in his students and his classes were challenging yet fun. Deepest sympathies to his family and the faculty and staff at Wittenberg University.

My sincere condolences; Dr Mason was my advisor when i was a student there. Great educator and wonderful human being. What i remember most however was the 4 am trumpet solos in the deserted Science Building. Godspeed Dr. Mason

This makes me sad . Dr Mason was a wonderful man and professor and ahead of his time. I remember he taught EM and the brand new Molecular Biology class. I´m glad he is no longer suffering and heaven gained a really good guy.
