What a legend you are "Joe Bettman." Your BETTMAN PHARMACY on the Westside of Dayton was 56 years of delivering life sustaining medications for so many people. Your volunteer efforts at Bettman Free Pharmacy at Reach Out was also a blessing to thousands of medically uninsured Daytonians. Your role as a pharmacist kept people healthy, out of the hospital, and living productive longer lives. For that we are grateful for you as well Elaine who never left your side including at many nonprofit Board tables.
Your role as Grandpa at Children´s Medical Center in Dayton, touched so many little hearts in our city. Joe, you made time for ALL of us. YOU, Joe, gifted us with so many offerings and so graciously added kind words in English as well as Hebrew, you gave us joy, catchy phrases of wisdom and let us not forget making everyone laugh out loud.
You hold the lifetime achievement award for the best ambassador in Dayton for giving graciously and unselfishly to all by serving others. All who knew you Joe, saw a devoted man who rallied others to become successful. Dayton was blessed to have you as a leader of giving, a leader of devotion and a good soul for Dayton. YOU WILL BE MISSED

Joe transcended his role as father, spouse and medical professional allowing those of us who interacted with him to just see a good man. He followed the principles of his Jewish faith not through words but through actions. Sending condolences to his partner, Elaine, and all who can take pride in being part of a deeply rooted family circle. He was truly an asset to the Dayton community.

My deepest condolences to the Bettman Family. I am truly blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Mr. B. and family for many years. He was a mentor to me and taught me the meaning of what work ethic and true customer service is. Those lessons I have carried with me throughout my life and I am so grateful to him for that. Rest Peacefully Mr. Bettman. To the family I send my love and continued prayers.
