Sandi Matoba Obituary
August 5, 1942-January 23, 2022
Sandra Yoko (Ono) Matoba passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was born in Merced, California and grew up in San Francisco Japantown. She was the eldest daughter of the late Masami (Sam) Ono and Kimiye Okamura.
Sandi was generous and thoughtful and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling and watching dramas, the Warriors and sumo. She especially cherished watching her granddaughters' basketball games and activities.
She is survived by her children Lori (Jeff Wun) and Greg (May Tsang), grandchildren Selena Tsang and Taylor, siblings Gary, Victor, JoAnn Wong, Judy Akiyama, Naomi Sato and Teresa, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A private service was held, and a scattering of her ashes will occur in May. In lieu of flowers/koden, you may donate in her memory to the Japanese Cultural and Community Center (JCCCNC), 1840 Sutter St., SF 94115.
