Tidd, Robert W. SOUTH BETHLEHEM Robert "Bob" "Poppy" Tidd of South Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2022, after a brilliant 88 years of life. He was born on March 31, 1933, in Albany, a son of the late Charles and Helen Tidd. Bob moved to South Bethlehem in his teens where he met the love of his life, June Robertson. Bob was a proud Korean War veteran where he served as a corporal in the fifth army. Upon returning home, he married June and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 2, 2022. Bob worked for the Town of Bethlehem as a heavy equipment operator for 34 years and stayed an active pillar in the community throughout his life. There is no question Bob's favorite place on earth was the dream "camp" he built on Loon Lake, where he spent the last 25 plus years enjoying time with his loved ones. Survivors include his loving wife, June M. Tidd; sons, Charles G. Tidd (Derris), and Daniel W. Tidd (Julie); three grandchildren, Beth Martinez (Jesus), Mark Tidd (Meghan) and Cassandra Tidd; four great-grandchildren, Evan and Alex Martinez, Allie and Connor Tidd; niece, Linda Lawton; great-niece, Evelyn Lawton; and goddaughter, Donna Buhrke and family. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Eunice (Tidd) Lawton. Bob was an active member of the South Bethlehem United Methodist Church for over 70 years and served as superintendent of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery for many. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, in the South Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Friends may call at the church prior to the service starting at 11 a.m. The family requests that masks be worn. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert may be made to the South Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 98, South Bethlehem, NY, 12161.

Knew Bob for the longest time since I was the paperboy that delivered his paper. Bob was the kind of Man that would help you if you needed it. Very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My condolences to the Tidd Family.
