Joseph (Giuseppo) Acampora, 80, of Wallingford passed away on February 12, 2022 in his home.
Joseph was born in New Haven on July 20, 1941 to the late John and Bridget (Carbone) Acampora. He served in the Army National Guard and received an honorable discharge. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 43 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph loved photography and videography. He collected art and was happy to support local artists.
Joseph is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa and Vincent Perretta of Wallingford, Sandra and Raymond Pavao of South Meriden; his sons, Joseph, Jr. and Anthony of Wallingford; two sisters Rose Calello and her husband Thomas of North Haven and Tina Caseio and her husband John of East Haven; and his brother Ralph Acampora of North Haven. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside Christian service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford, Connecticut has been entrusted with the arrangements. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.BaileyCares.com.

Very sad to learn of Joes passing. He was my mail carrier for many years, as well as a friend. Not only would he hand deliver our mail and packages but would many times surprise us with yummy treats, among other wonderful delights!
I was sad when he changed routes, however his new route was in my best friends neighborhood... I was delighted for her to be able to enjoy Joe´s kindnesses. His kindness and generous ways will always be in my heart. Rest In Peace dear Joe

We are saddened to hear of Joe´s passing. I remember our school years together. On my visits to grammas on Sundays with my Dad I would hang out with him. Looking back I regret the missed opportunity of keeping up the family relationship. We will light a candle for him since we are unable to attend being away at this time
