Timothy P. Daly

1965 - 2022

Daly, Timothy P. ALBANY Timothy Patrick Daly died peacefully, at the age of 56, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Born in Cooperstown, he was raised in Guilderland, and graduated from Guilderland High School. He attended Ithaca College and graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, Vt. His career as a chef and in the food industry was spent in the Portland, Ore. area, where he also enjoyed hiking and camping with his family in the mountains and along the Oregon coast. When he returned to Guilderland two years ago, Tim worked part-time and was able to renew friendships with long-time friends. He is survived by his former wife, Kelly Karr and his beloved daughter, Hannah Daly of Silverton, Ore; his mother, Susan Daly of Brewster, Mass; his brother, Mark and sister-in-law, Lisa Grumet and his niece, Gwen of Brooklyn; his sister, Amy Daly-Fisher and brother-in-law, Matthew Fisher of Ridgewood, N.Y.; and numerous cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his father, John G. Daly. Tim was cheerful and outgoing and made friends everywhere he went. He had many interests, including peace, justice, making art, and appreciating the healing power of wilderness. He loved music of many genres but especially the Grateful Dead and eclectic rock and roll. He could often be found at concerts with his cousins and friends. In both Portland and Albany one of his favorite pastimes was brightening the mornings of customers when he worked at local farmer's markets. A celebration of Tim's life will take place this summer in Albany. In remembrance of Tim's gentle spirit and his kindness toward others, contributions may be made in his name to The Open Space Institute for the protection of John Boyd Thacher State Park, The Oregon Food Bank, or The Portland Food Project, P.O.
