Jo Ann (Snow) Williams; 87 years; of Houston, TX; passed away on Wednesday; July 6, 2022 in Pasadena, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for 12PM on Saturday; July 16 2022 at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville, TX and the burial will follow at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Madisonville, TX. The visitation is scheduled to begin at 11:30AM prior to the service.
Jo Ann was born on January 11, 1935 in Normangee, TX to Claude Randolph and Sarah Velma (Batson) Snow. She was a pioneer in academia, attended Texas Woman's University (TWU) in Denton, TX, and was a professor at Massey Business College in Houston, TX until she retired in 1992 where she taught English and shorthand. After retiring from the business school, she went to work for The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) at the Hightower Unit in Dayton, TX where she was the supervisor over inmate records until she retired in 2002.
Jo Ann married Robbie Carroll Williams on December 2, 1961 and had three children and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved attending church, singing gospel music, and correcting everyone's grammar. When not teaching, she had a passion for shopping for make-up and beautiful clothes and getting her hair done. Jo Ann was once described as "the most beautiful woman I have ever seen".
Jo Ann was proceeded in death by her husband; Robbie Carroll Williams; her parents Sarah Velma (Batson) Snow and Claude Randolph Snow; and her grandson Joseph Ryan Nedbalek. She is survived by her daughter, Shelly A. Merchant (James Henry); her son, Eddie Williams (Kayla); her son, Michael Williams (Michelle); her granddaughters, Merissa Parsons (Ryan) and Mikayla Geisinger (Landon); her grandsons, Jake Helton, Corey Williams (Jackie); and her great grandchildren, Conner Joseph Parsons, Carter Eli Parsons, Lee Claude Geisinger and Joseph Randolph Williams.
Serving as pallbearers are: Michael Williams, Jake Helton, James Henry, Corey Williams, Miguel Quintana, and Jerry Devinchi. Serving as an honorary pallbearer is: Ryan Parsons.
