Ruth Irene Wagner

Wagner, Ruth Irene EAST GREENBUSH Ruth Irene Wagner, 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 12, 2022. She was born in Pittsfield, Mass. to George and Melinda Jansen. Ruth grew up in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School. On August 8, 1948, Ruth married John Wagner and joined him and his three small children in East Greenbush. Ruth's Christian faith had been an important part of her life. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, and singing. In her younger years, her soprano voice was well recognized in the church choir. Ruth was on the leadership team of the Christian Women's Club for many years. She worshiped at the Loudonville Community Church for most of the past 30 years, where she also participated in several women's groups. Celebrating family holidays, special occasions, traveling with friends and family, and summer vacations to Wildwood Crest, N.J. were among her favorite memories. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, John Wagner Sr. She is survived by her three children, John Wagner (Pat), Lars Wagner (Cherie), and Karen Fox (Erven), eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor for all the support and help given to Ruth and her family over the past five years, as well as the Rensselaer County Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday from 1 - 3 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer.
