Worked with Mr. Hayward at Centerville store for years and did work for him at Bee Gee Shoes. Couldn't have worked for a nicer person. [email protected]

Troy and I had sister mothers. We both shared tragedy at our early ages, Troy's mother passed when he was five years old and I lost my father a month before I was born, May 1940. We shared some great times together in Sciotoville, Ohio. One of the most memorable was in 1947, I was spending a few days with Troy. We collected some soda bottles, turned them in for probably a quarter, bought a pack of Phillip Morris cigarettes the nest day we got farmed out to our uncle George for the afternoon, Uncle George worked in the open hearth at the steel mill, was a burly man in his own right. He had several hunting dogs with fairly large sized dog houses. Uncle George was sitting on his porch, Troy and I decided to crawl into one of the dog houses and light up a smoke. It wasn't long when the smoke started rolling out the doorway. All I remember was uncle George's face appearing in the doorway and with both his hands he pulled us out of the doghouse. Troy and I laughed about this for years. I'm sure uncle George got a hoot out of it too.
Hate to see you go Troy. Life and death keeps coming at a bad time

My husband Brad and I both worked with Troy at Elder-Beerman Stores. He was one of the nicest, caring individuals and always found the positive in any situation, often leaving one with laughter. It was a pleasure to have known him. Jane & Brad Roberts
