”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,800 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

I served with Chris in Iraq. And the day he left us to a new mission in heaven is a day I will never forget. He always knew how to get us to laugh. Always a positive outlook on life, and an inspiration to me. You will be missed Chris.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Cheryl, my heart goes out to you and your little daughter, Cierra.Hold fast to all the good memories of your husband, Chris. The pain does get dim, but will never go away. Know that your husband died a hero for us in American, so we can be the Land of the Brave and the Home of the Free.

My son, Staff Sergeant Jason Hicks, was killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan on March 23, 2003. We just relived that in Arlington earlier this week on his anniversary date. I have known Chris off and on for over four year. He was stationed in Washington, DC. My heart goes out to his wife and daughter for their loss. Chris always had a smile on his face for anyone. He always gave me a great big hug when he saw me. Just remember that he is now in heaven with those soldiers who have given their lives for out freedom. He is watching us and taking care of his loved ones from the holes in heaven.

I know that he will be missed each and every day that goes by just remember that he gave his life for our lives. There are not enough words to say thank you. Someday his daughter will grow up and be so very proud of their father.

I don't think I've ever met a more positive or uplifting person than Chris Hill. Everyone who knew him says the same thing about him. I knew Chris when he was stationed here in VA, and I will always remember him as a happy, fun person who liked to sing and have a good time, and make sure that everyone around him had a good time as well.

Chris, wherever you are, know that you are remembered fondly and with great love and respect. I feel blessed to have known you. And thank you for serving our nation, and working to keep us safe at night - you made us proud!

As a stranger to the family it is a privilege to say thank you for the ultimate sacrifice so that America can remain free.Warriors such as Chris gave his life to insure that we can live our lives in freedom.May God richly bless your family and comfort them in this time of loss.

Art Collins

March 20, 2004

This is a rare opportunity for a complete stranger to say "Thank you" to someone who has paid the ultimate price for our freedom and the freedom of perfect strangers in other parts of the world. I think many US citizens miss the point when one of our own goes down for the cause of Liberty. We take for granted, each and every day, those freedoms that are not a right given to us by man, but rather the rights given to us by God. Chris, like so many others, has given his life so that others might live in freedom.

I wish his family the best as they continue on, knowing that this man is an American hero.....

My heat goes out to Christopher's entire family. I cannot begin to imagine the pain you all must feel. I wanted you to know how proud I am of him. He gave his life in helping others who were not even Americans. What great love when a man gives his life for a friend? What unselfish love when he gives his life for a stranger. I wish he were here and alive but I know his actions touched the heart of God and I believe in my heart Christopher is with Him.

We never know the lives that we touch, who we make an impression on. As the wife and daughter of veterans, I do appreciate our military and their families for the sacrifices made on behalf of our country.

I am one of probably many who only know about Chris via the news reports, but the family and all others who serve should know:

Their efforts are heroic and they will not be forgotten.

I did not personally know Specialist Hill, but had the privilege of serving with and leading soldiers for over two decades. Let me offer the following excerpt from the West Point Alma Mater...

And when our work is done,

Our course on Earth is run,

May it be said, "Well done:

Be thou at peace."

My prayers are with you during this difficult time in your life. Cheryl, may you and Cierra continue to be blessed in the name of Our Lord and Saviour. Always remember: 1 Peter 5:6 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time." May God continue to bless the entire Hill family.

Isaiah 25:8

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
