Malenfant, Marie-Anne
ALBANY - Marie-Anne Malenfant entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
She was born in Metz, Moselle, France in 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucie (Paul) Wagner. She was raised and educated in France, and married Wilfred N. Malenfant (Norman) of Albany, in her hometown of Gorze, France in 1958, coming to the United States in 1959. She worked for the N.Y.S. Unified Court System for a total of 36 years, 32 of which were at the New York State Court of Claims, from which she retired in 2010. Prior to her employment with the N.Y.S. Unified Court System, she worked for seven years at the Albany County Board of Elections. She was a communicant of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, her daughter, Deborah A. Malenfant; and her brother-in-law, Jean-Claude Fecteau, formerly of Black Lake, Quebec. She is survived by her son, Norman J. Malenfant of Clifton Park (Alisa); Michael Malenfant, his wife Janet and their four children, Sarah, Jessica, Sean, and Mikayla, of Averill Park, with whom she shared a special relationship; her brother-in-law, Donald J. Malenfant and his wife Joan of Fort Myers, Fla.; two nieces, Renée Belanger and Monique Malenfant, numerous cousins in France and Canada, and many treasured longtime friends.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
Contributions in Marie-Anne's memory may be made to the Cathedral Department of Social Services or to the Cathedral Restoration Fund, both of which are located at 125 Eagle Street, Albany, NY, 12202.
