SAND LAKE - Nancy M. Allen, 85 of Locksmith Way, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Albany Medical Center Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born in Albany on May 23, 1937, Nancy was the daughter of the late Eugene "Lucky" and Mary Miller Baldwin and the beloved wife of Frank H. Allen. Nancy was raised in Rensselaer and had resided in Sand Lake since 1959. Prior to her marriage she worked at Montgomery Ward. Nancy was a past member of the West Sand Lake Ladies Auxiliary, was a dispatcher for the Sand Lake Ambulance and was a member of the DAR Fort Crailo Chapter. Nancy was a Girl Scout growing up and she enjoyed embroidery and sewing.
Nancy was the sister of the late Christine R. Baldwin, Gene M. Babb, Barbara A. Pogoda, and Raymond "Flip" Baldwin. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Allen of Round Lake, Colleen A. Severson of Colonie, Frances H. (John) Allen of Troy, Laura M. (Ron) Allen of Malta, and Tabitha Marie Allen-Tufano, whom was her caregiver for a number of years, son-in-law, Jody C. Tufano of Sand Lake; her sister, Kathy (Dale) Keenan of Colonie; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Cathy Baldwin of Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26, at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park, followed by a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be on Friday, 11 a.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery, 4285 Rte. 150, West Sand Lake, where Frank and Nancy will be laid to rest together.
