Warren Hart Obituary

Warren Bryan "Speedy" Hart
September 15, 1941 - February 15, 2023
Warren Bryan "Speedy" Hart, 81, son of Mr. and Mrs. JP Hart, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on
February 15, 2023, in San Antonio. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 15, 1941.

Speedy moved to San Antonio at a young age and graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1959. In high school, he excelled on the Track and Field team, earning many awards in high jump. He was also an expert ski jumper, placing second place in the National Ski Jumping competition in 1959. He spent countless days on Lake McQueeney, driving boats for the Lake Breeze Ski Lodge and skiing for the Ski Bees ski team.

After high school, he
attended The
University of Texas at Austin. Speedy was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and forged many friendships that lasted the remaining 60 years of his life.

Upon moving back to San Antonio in 1963 to work alongside his father who founded JP Hart Lumber Company, Speedy expanded the company to the major markets in Texas by recognizing its people are its most important asset along with serving its loyal customers at the highest level with unquestionable integrity.

In 1968, Speedy
married Dianne Moore and had two children, Valerie and Bryan. They raised their children in a loving home, welcomed their children's friends into their home, and loved them like their own.

Speedy was an avid outdoorsman and spent some of his happiest times hunting in South Texas and fishing on the Texas coast with his best friends and his son, Bryan.

In 2004, Speedy met and fell in love with
Lindsay Weatherston Marvin. They were
married in 2008 and spent 15 beautiful years together before his
passing. He was so blessed to spend his final years with Lindsay, who loved him dearly. In addition, Speedy loved her children and grandchildren as his own; her son, Gary Marvin (Jennifer); her daughter, Shannon Brown (Rocky); her grandchildren, Lexi Call, Samantha Marvin, Jax Brown, and Charley Brown.

We give special thanks to the doctors and nurses that cared for him at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital and to Dr. Mark Thornton and his nephew Dr. J.W. Steves.

Speedy will be
remembered first and foremost as a man with an enormous heart, a friend to everyone he knew, and a role model to the younger men in his life. He will be missed by too many people to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Hart; his brother, Wayne Jackson Hart; and his son, Warren "Bryan" Hart III. He is survived by his wife,
Lindsay Weatherston Hart; sisters, Margaret Hart Shaw and Susan Hart Steves; daughter, Valerie Hart Wright,
husband Greg Wright; and his grandchildren, Jack Wright, Emery Wright, Miles Wright and Elizabeth Wright;
nephews, Franklin Steves, J.W. Steves,
Laurie Steves, Travis Shaw, and Lisa Bishop.
