Bryan Leslie Mayo, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away unexpectedly due to complications from pneumonia on January 29, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born June 20, 1951, in San Angelo, Texas to Stephen and Betty Mayo.

He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from King High School, where he played varsity baseball and football.

He attended Trinity University on a baseball scholarship and earned a B.S. in Construction and Engineering Science. While at the university, he met his wife Sarah Scott, with whom he shared his life for the next 50 years.

Bryan established Mayo Construction in 1976. He was an accomplished general contractor, building both residential and commercial projects in and around San Antonio for 47 years. His creative solutions for construction details were both innovative and functional.
Bryan will be remembered for his strong work ethic, charisma, kindness, and his engaging laugh. He was a man of faith, rock solid, and had a hilarious sense of humor. Over the last ten years, Bryan developed a passion for golf. While his passing was unexpected, we are comforted by knowing he is playing golf on the greenest fairways in Heaven. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bryan is preceded in death by his father, Stephen L. Mayo (Juliette Andrews) of San Antonio; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Glenn Scott; father-in-law, Vernon Willingham Scott of Tillar, Arkansas; his sister-in-law, Sharon Scott Milledge; and brother-in-law, Lewis Deblois Milledge of Miami, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sarah (Scott); his two loving children, Erin (Eric Morton), of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Cameron (Lonny Allestad) of Big Timber, Montana. Paw Paw will be missed by his grandchildren, Tarkington, Wayland, Elly, Halley, and Layne. Further lovingly survived by his mother, Betty Rainey of Seguin, Texas; and siblings, Debbie (Garry Wright) of Seguin, Texas, Lisa Mayo of Seguin, Texas, Steve (Susan Bonifield) of Comfort, Texas, and Jan (Steve Goltzman) of Willis, Texas; brother-in-law, Dr. John Scott (Vicki Mount) of Tyler, Texas; and his cherished nieces and nephews.

The Family is forever grateful to the doctors and nurses at University Hospital who provided incredible care and support for Bryan and the family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church, Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00 am. There will be a reception in the church Fellowship Hall following the service.
