MECHANICVILLE - Stanley J. Raylinsky, known by most as Sonny, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was 82.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Stanley and Josephine (Krawczyk) Raylinsky.
Sonny was a devoted employee of General Electric in Schenectady. No matter the hour, "Rugsy" never said no to overtime and took great joy in reminiscing about the good old days at the foundry. Sonny loved the foundry and never really left it. He continued to remain busy helping his family and friends with whatever tasks that needed tending to. He was always willing to give good advice, whether you liked it or not. He was happiest when working with his hands and getting things done. He spent his free time motorcycling, hunting, snowmobiling, and carrying a canoe deep into the Adirondacks to troll for brook trout. He truly wanted his family secure and did what he could to ensure that was realized.
Survived by his wife, Philomena "Phyllis," and his two sons, Mark (Kathleen McCloud), and Eric (Johnna Marcolongo); two granddaughters, Danielle and Hayli; one brother, Ronald Raylinsky (Janis Hurd) and one nephew, Geoffrey.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, in the Corpus Christi Church, 2001 US Rte. 9, Round Lake. Immediately following will be a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Following the service, all are invited to a celebration of Sonny's life at the Hillcrest Fire Department, 145 Pruyn Hill Rd., Mechanicville, from 12 to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Stanley's name to the Corpus Christi Church, 2001 US Rte. 9, Round Lake, NY, 12151.
