Maria "Nena" Gonzales born June 25, 1949 passed away suddenly March 19, 2023 at the age of 73. She is preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Maria Gonzales; brother, Robert Gleason; sister, Dolores Ortega; and nephew, Gilbert Peña. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Andres M. Gonzales; daughters, Cynthia Carreon, Angelina Gonzales, and Lisa Park (Brad); sons, Andres Gonzales Jr. and Javier Gonzales (Priscilla); sisters: Shelly, Nanet, Margaret, Georgina, and Juanita; brother Rudy; grandchildren Angel, Andres III, Mason, Adam, Aaron, Javier Jr., Liliana, Calaleya; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 god children; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Anyone who knew her got to experience her magnificent soul and cheerful personality. She was the rock and glue to the family and would help anyone who needed it. Nena's talents were many, she was an extremely accomplished seamstress, a pillar to the community, a protector of her god-children, and a plant enthusiast for the neighborhood. This loss has left a hole that cannot be filled. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
Funeral services will begin on March 29, 3:00 p.m. at Castle Ridge Mortuary, San Antonio, TX 78227.
