Claire E. Walter (Boland) of Kettering, Ohio, Loving mother of David (Andrea Tuttle) Walter, Don (Dolly) Walter and Marcia (Scott) Tolliver; Beloved grandmother of Elyse (Kevin) Wallace and Claire (Eddie) Traynor; Proud great-grandmother of Graeme & Olivia Wallace and Aurora Traynor. Preceded in death by her parents Michael & Margaret Boland and brother Edward (Nell) Boland. Survived by her sister Myra (Leo) McGarry and many nieces, nephews and friends. Graduated from Julianne High School and University of Dayton and was Director of Lollipop House, Children's World and Wenzler Day Care for a total of 52 years and was beloved by all as "Grandma Claire". Stayed in close touch with many, many friends and was very close to her family; took great joy in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the age of 93. Friends and family will be received from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, April 13th at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 14 at St Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave, Kettering, and burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Dayton for their extraordinary and loving care.

My mom will forever be in my heart. She was everything you would want in a mother and best friend. I will cherish all the memories, the daily phone calls and all the time we spent together. Thank you, mom for being there always. I will miss you deeply. Thank you for always being my biggest cheerleader. Thank you for being the best mom anyone could ever ask for. My heart is broken. Marcia--sorry your Mom passed away. Mom(Lucy Miller) passed away 05-26-2011 from stomach/colon cancer age 84. Dad (Gene Miller) passed away 11-12-2012 Dementia age 92. Over the years, tho rare, Mom would sentimentally and admiringly say how "Claire ran a nursery." We four surviving girls are Fran (Miller) Schlegel'68; Julie (Miller) Feinblum'69; Bonnie (Miller) Schultze '71; Cynthia (Miller) Copas "76 Alter H.S. David is or was in Boulder Colorado where Julie lives. I worked at Sears when you were there; I was in Personnel. The Miller family were your neighbors at 2632 Oakley Ave a long time ago. May Claire rest in peace. She WAS a dear, sweet lady my Mom said. Fran (Miller) Schlegel
