Jay and I first met during our early 20's in my homeland of Oahu. He and his basketball teammates were here to play against University of Hawaii.
We were together during his visit and had the greatest time . Soon after we became couple and the rest is. history
Jay was my first love. I met a large part of his family in Ohio and spent quality time. Jay's parents always made me feel welcome staying in their home..
Jay's pet name for me was always ..my "Pal" . We were to rendezvous in Las Vegas until covid hindered our plans.
Jay was my funny valentine....now he is with his parents....the people he loved the deepest. As always ...I love you Jay
Carter.... Snappy aka "pal"

A smile that would brighten up any room..
We met in high school and continued our friendship in college and beyond. Like many young adults as we grow older, we do not see our friends as much as we would like.
I will always remember Jay as a kind young man who was a great son to his parents and loyal to all who called him a friend. You will be missed.
Love to you and your family,
Lynn Davis

Jay was a classmate of mine at Carlson Elementary School. He was a very intelligent, funny, fun-loving, kind and athletic kid. Even as an adolescent was already a leader. I only saw him sporadically after that but he always had a kind word. Though he had become very successful he never forgot from whence he came. He was truly a good brother and will be missed by many.

My condolences to the family. Jay and I were high school classmates. He was indeed one of the kindest people you could know. He was indeed one the best basketball player's and academic student's to ever come out of Dayton, Ohio. I can hear the public address announcer Mr. Ed Adams calling the Dunbar starting 5 with Jay being last. He would say, And then, and then at forward His Honor Easy Jay Carter!! and the U.D. arena would go craaaaaaazzzzzzeeeee

As a childhood friend of Jay, I am deeply saddened about his death. Jay and I grew up in the same neighborhood, went to elementary school together and were law school classmates. In a nutshell, all I can say to my friend is "thanks for the memories." Rest in peace Jay.
