Elvira N. Montgomery, age 78, of Dayton, OH. departed this life Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Funeral service 12 pm Friday, September 15, 2023, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Visitation 10 am- 12 pm. Family will receive friends 11 am- 12 pm. Interment Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.

I attended the old Gard Avenue Church of Christ with Sister Montgomery. My fondest memory of her was when I was a single mother, and having difficulty, she passed me a note in church asking me what did I need for my baby. I responded and gave her my address. Later that night, she came to my home with a case of infant formula. I've never forgotten that. I will miss her.

Will miss your soft voice and loving smile at church
You taught Sunday school Gard AVE Church of Christ. Never recall you gossiping or making underhand remarks. Rest in peace Sister Montgomery. Condolences to your son.
